About YVEG
The Young Vocational Educators Guild (YVEG) is a newly established course-oriented student organization of the Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teachers Education (BTVTEd) Program at Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC). The organization's official tagline, "Empowering Tomorrow’s Workforce Today," is clearly emphasized by its three major objectives: (a) to enhance the skills, knowledge, and values of its members, particularly in the field of technical-vocational education; (b) to establish good camaraderie between members within the organization and with other organizations at EVSU-OC; and (c) to assess whether members have acquired the knowledge and skills they need for their future endeavors, respectively.
As stipulated in the 2017 Revised Student Handbook of Eastern Visayas State University, Chapter X (CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES), Article 47, Section 175.2, the organization is guided by its Constitution and Bylaws (CBL). The organization practices a democratic style of leadership, where members take the initiative. It provides a safe space for members to gather information, ask for clarification, suggest potential actions, and run for office. A semestral General Assembly is conducted to orient members about their rights, duties, and responsibilities. The organization also prioritizes transparency and honesty, hence the submission of an organic and consolidated Financial and Liquidation Report at the conclusion of every semester.
In its pioneering year, the YVEG organization accomplished various activities centered on welfare and skill-honing programs for its members. It began supporting the learning of every BTVTEd student in any way possible. From one administration to the next, the main goal remained clear: to empower every BTVTEd student, help them acquire relevant skills, and foster a healthy environment within the ever-growing guild of students. YVEG ensured its contribution to the development of highly competent EVSU-OC students imbued with excellence and enriched with positive values, leaving a lasting legacy and empowering the workforce of the future.
