About NSTP

The National Service Training Program (NSTP) Office at Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), Ormoc Campus stands as a beam of community engagement and civic responsibility within the university's educational landscape. Within the heart of Ormoc City, this institution serves as a focal point for nurturing the spirit of volunteerism and social awareness among its students.

EVSU's NSTP Office is a dynamic hub where students converge to embark on a transformative journey of service to their nation and society. The office serves as the central command center for all NSTP-related activities, coordinating and facilitating various programs aimed at instilling values of citizenship, leadership, and nation-building.

As students as they step into the NSTP Office, they are greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere, reflective of the inclusive ethos that underpins the program. Here, they find dedicated faculty who are passionate about guiding them through their NSTP experience, whether it be through classroom lectures, fieldwork, or community outreach initiatives.

One of the primary functions of the NSTP Office is to administer the three components of the NSTP program: Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS), and Literacy Training Service (LTS). Through these components, students are given the opportunity to engage with diverse communities, address pressing societal issues, and develop essential skills that will serve them well beyond their academic pursuits.

Under the ROTC component, students undergo military training aimed at fostering discipline, teamwork, and patriotism. Led by experienced military personnel, ROTC activities include physical conditioning, leadership drills, and lessons on national defense and security.

Meanwhile, the CWTS component immerses students in community development projects, where they actively contribute to the betterment of marginalized sectors. From environmental conservation efforts to health education campaigns, CWTS activities empower students to become agents of positive change in their communities.

The LTS component focuses on promoting literacy and numeracy among underserved populations. Through tutoring sessions, reading programs, and educational workshops, students help bridge the gap in educational opportunities, empowering individuals to unlock their full potential.

The NSTP Office also serves as a platform for advocacy and collaboration. It organizes seminars, forums, and outreach events aimed at raising awareness about pertinent social issues and fostering dialogue among students, faculty, and community stakeholders.

The NSTP Office cultivates partnerships with local government units, non-governmental organizations, and other institutions to maximize the impact of its initiatives and create sustainable solutions to societal challenges.

The essence of NSTP Office at EVSU Ormoc Campus embodies the university's commitment to holistic education and social responsibility. It is a place where students not only acquire knowledge and skills but also cultivate empathy, compassion, and a sense of duty towards their fellow Filipinos. Through their experiences in the NSTP program, students emerge as empowered citizens poised to make meaningful contributions to the advancement of society.
