About Teacher Education Department
The Teacher Education Department (TED) is comprised of students, faculty, and staff. Our office is one of the foundations of the institution. In our office this 2nd-semester academic year 2023-2024, we have 16 regular faculty, six temporary faculty, 30 full-time part-time faculty, and 28 part-time faculty with mother agency and 2 admin staff.
The Teacher Education Department (TED) offers six programs: Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Math (BSED MATH), Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science (BSED SCIENCE), Bachelor in Physical Education (BPED), Bachelor Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Technical – Vocational Teacher Education major in Food and Service Management (BTVTED – FSM), and Diploma in Teaching Secondary (DTS). We have one thousand five hundred fifty-five ( 1, 555) officially enrolled students this second-semester academic year 2023 -2024, three hundred seventy-one (371) for Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science ( BSED SCIENCE), three hundred seventy-nine (379) for Bachelor of Physical Education ( BPED), two hundred ( 200) for Bachelor of Secondary Education major in math ( BSED MATH), three hundred sixty-one ( 361) for Bachelor of Elementary Education ( BEED), two hundred twenty ninety ( 229) for Bachelor of Technical – Vocational Teacher Education major in Food and Service Management (BTVTED – FSM), and fifteen ( 15) Diploma in Teaching Secondary ( DTS).
Five programs of Teacher Education Department ( TED) received the Certificate of Compliance (COPC), Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Math (BSED MATH), Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science (BSED SCIENCE), Bachelor in Physical Education (BPED), Bachelor Elementary Education (BEED) received the Certificate of Compliance ( COPC ) last January 26, 2023 and the Bachelor of Technical – Vocational Teacher Education major in Food and Service Management (BTVTED – FSM) received the Certificate of Compliance last October 23, 2023. The Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Math (BSED MATH), and Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science (BSED SCIENCE) are in Level II accreditation, and Bachelor in Physical Education (BPED), Bachelor Elementary Education (BEED), Bachelor of Technical – Vocational Teacher Education major in Food and Service Management (BTVTED – FSM) are in Level I accreditation.
The Teacher Education Department (TED) produced LET passers of all programs above the National Passing Rate last September 2023 Professional Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).
The Teacher Education Department (TED) EVSU-OC Campus is committed to providing the country and, more specifically, the region with well-equipped teachers who are ready for the challenges in the teaching field. It takes pride in its graduates who are successful in their field of specialization. Our students are grounded on the virtues of an EVSUNISTA. It fulfills its duty to produce excellence, value-laden, service-driven, and broad-minded graduates who can excel in any field of endeavor.
In addition, the department is not confined within the walls of academia to its stakeholders and partners through its research and extension programs that dismantle barriers to education. Currently, it has provided programs for training and community empowerment in Brgy. Lake Danao and soon in other barangays of Ormoc City.
Moreover, the faculty, staff, and students have created an environment that promotes and nurtures well-rounded individuals. Our faculty is actively participating in training, seminars, and further studies to improve their skills continually, thereby ensuring the delivery of quality education.
