In line with its commitment to student health and wellness, the university conducted pregnancy testing for 349 female students from January 14 to 16, 2025, as part of the prerequisites for their teaching practicum. The testing was mandatory for students enrolled in various teacher-education programs, including Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) with majors in Science and Mathematics, Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED), Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED), and Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED).

The primary goal of the pregnancy testing was to identify any health concerns that could potentially affect the students’ ability to meet the demands of their practicum. The tests were conducted by nurse designate Mr. Joseph T. Gudelos and clinic nurse Ms. Dina C. Capala at the university clinic, ensuring that all students were fit to undertake the challenges of classroom teaching.

The initiative was successfully completed, with all 349 students participating. The results were carefully documented and incorporated into the students’ health records, marking one of the essential steps for their practicum eligibility.

This activity highlights the university’s holistic approach to education, underscoring its dedication to the health and well-being of its students. Adhering to health protocols, the institution ensures its students are fully prepared for their professional teaching experience, while simultaneously safeguarding their overall welfare.
