The first-ever “Sangpit sa Kagahapon” Cultural Concert, held at Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) Covered Court, night of November 22, was a vibrant play featuring a mix of music, dance, and theater, showcasing the peaceful and rich culture of Filipinos back then.

The event began with welcome remarks from Dr. Joergen T. Arradaza, Jr., Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) Head. Followed by a speech from Mr. Roxy Bandejo, Culture and Arts Coordinator and Director of Alugyaw Dance Company, highlighting the main purposes of the cultural concert. Then, Hon. Krizea Cassandra Mercadal delivered her special message, appreciating the efforts and talents of EVSUnistas, especially the members of Alugyaw Dance Company and Performing Arts students who were the performers.

The exceptional performance of singers highlighting the Visayan songs stood out amidst the silence of the audience, allowing them to focus and be mesmerized by the display of emotion they’ve conveyed. In addition to their outstanding performance, the elegant and captivating modern dance of the performers earned them thunderous applause at the end of the play.

The event concluded with a closing remarks from Hon. Lalaine Marcos, who delivered her heartfelt gratitude for witnessing the successful and emotional first-ever cultural concert by the talented youths of the EVSU-OC community. It was then followed by Prof. Kristine Lovele Navarrete, who gave her sincere appreciation for the audiences who were present, especially the guests, parents, students, and everyone who contributed to the event’s success.
