The Institute of Integrated Electrical Engineers (IIEE) of Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) conducted a seminar on “Preventative Maintenance Testing of Oil-Powered Transformers” on November 22, 2024, at the Angara Building, EVSU-OC Luna Extension.

Spearheaded by the IIEE President, Judeia Degulacion, the seminar was attended by students from various programs for an in-depth exploration regarding preventative maintenance of oil-filled transformers.

The event formally started with the opening remarks of IIEE President Judeia Degulacion, followed by the introduction of the resource speaker, Engr. Prince Gyl C. Dimpas REE, RME, before starting the discussion proper.

The discussion then started with a pre-test in the form of a game. Thereafter, Engr. Dimpas formally started his session with his insightful and informative discussion covering the crucial aspects of how to properly maintain the oil-filled transformers, passing on valuable knowledge to the attendees to further develop their skills and knowledge regarding the matter. After the discussion, Engr. Dimpas gave the attendees the opportunity to ask questions to be answered.

The program concluded with the awarding of the certificate to the resource speaker, which was presented by the IIEE External Vice President, Eirncy James U. Ledesma, followed by a post-test led by the resource speaker where three top students who got the highest score were rewarded by Engr. Dimpas.
