As Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus pilots another academic year for 2024-2025, a two-day on-site orientation for the incoming freshmen was held to discuss the Implementing Rules and Regulations of RA 10931, or the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, at EVSU Covered Court on July 8–9, 2024.
Said event, organized by the Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) and headed by Dr. Joergen T. Arradaza Jr. and Dr. Charlene C. Pita, Guidance Designated, was attended by incoming freshmen from different programs and their parents.
On the first day, July 8th, the orientation was divided into sessions for different programs conducted: BSEE, BSME, BSCE, BSIT, BS Ind. Tech (Culinary Arts), and BS Ind. Tech (Electronics). And on the second day, July 9th, freshmen from the BSHM, BTVTEd-FSM, BPEd, BEEd, BSEd Math, and BSEd Science programs attended the orientation.Â
This annual orientation is designed to inform freshmen about their privileges in free higher education and to help them navigate the system efficiently. In addition to explaining the benefits, the orientation provides students and parents with vital information on the application process, requirements, and available support services, ensuring a smooth transition into university life.
