Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus Clinic hosted a three-day medical and dental service event from December 2 to 4, 2024, as part of its ongoing commitment to promoting health and well-being within its academic community. This initiative provided free healthcare services to faculty and students, reinforcing the university’s dedication to fostering a healthy and productive educational environment.
The event offered a range of essential health services tailored to address the needs of its beneficiaries. Among the most sought-after services was dental cleaning, availed by 26 students and 8 faculty members. These individuals received professional dental care, emphasizing the importance of oral hygiene in maintaining overall health. The procedures not only addressed immediate concerns but also served as preventive measures against potential dental issues. Medical consultations were provided to students and faculty members. These consultations allowed participants to discuss various health concerns with medical professionals and receive personalized advice and recommendations. For cases involving minor injuries, the clinic offered dressing services to one student, ensuring proper wound care to prevent infections and promote healing.
The success of this event was made possible through the coordinated efforts of dedicated university personnel, Dr. Ma. Salud N. Rosilio, the University Physician, played a pivotal role in providing medical consultations and first aid services, addressing diverse health concerns with expertise and care. Dr. Leslie O. Tecson, the University Dentist, skillfully managed dental services, including assessments and cleanings, ensuring that participants received quality oral health care. Supporting the medical team were Nurse Designate Joseph T. Gudelos and Clinic Nurse Dina C. Capala, who took charge of organizing activities and facilitating a smooth flow of operations. Adjunct clinic personnel La Sallete C. De Rosas contributed to the event by assisting in medical procedures and logistics, ensuring that all tasks were executed efficiently.
