EVSU Ormoc Professors Joseph T. Gudelos, Charo D. Angelio, and Georgina M. Orbeta attended a two-day training workshop on Writing and Publishing, along with a writeshop on Evidence to Policy. The event was held on November 21-22, 2024, at Hotel Alejandro in Tacloban City. It was an inspiring, insightful, and highly useful experience, serving the dual purpose of fostering the professional growth of the attendees and advancing the institutional goal of global visibility.
The distinguished and highly experienced speaker was Dr. Don Eliseo Prisno III, a renowned Global Scientist, founder of Global Health Focus, and Editor-in-Chief of Public Health Challenges (Wiley). He was joined by Mr. Jerico Ogaya, the Program Manager of Global Health Focus.
The EVSU OC representatives developed proposed outputs to be submitted to Scopus-indexed journals. Prof. Charo Angelio presented their paper, co-authored by the two speakers, titled “Surrogacy in the Philippines: Tackling Ethical Dilemmas and Social Implications.” Prof. Orbeta submitted her paper on “Communicating the Science of COVID-19 to Communities” for review, and Prof. Gudelos also proposed a paper on the “Health of Seafarers.”
The event was sponsored and hosted by EVHRDC and DOST.
