EVSU-Ormoc Concludes Strategic Planning; Aligns 2026 Goals with University President’s Vision

ORMOC CITY, Leyte – Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) successfully concluded its two-day Campus Assessment & Operational Planning today, January 30, 2026, solidifying its roadmap for the upcoming academic and fiscal year.

Following the rigorous performance review of Day 1, the second day shifted focus to “Goal Setting, KPI Reset, & Strategic Alignment,” ensuring that the campus’s trajectory is fully synchronized with the university’s macro-vision.

The sessions were heavily influenced by the strategic mandate delivered by University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, whose challenge to the administration is to elevate EVSU into a premier institution in the ASEAN region by 2040. His directive for excellence and virtue served as the guiding framework for the day’s workshops.

Facilitated by the EVSU IPDO Team, the final day was comprised of high-level planning sessions. The morning began with Session 6: Goal Setting for the Next Planning Cycle, where department heads defined ambitious yet attainable targets. This was immediately followed by Session 7: KPI Review and Resetting, ensuring that success indicators remain relevant and measurable.

The afternoon sessions focused on cohesion and execution. Session 8 addressed Strategy and Initiative Alignment, while Session 9 tackled Implementation and Governance Alignment, establishing clear protocols to bridge the gap between planning and execution.

The event culminated with Session 10: Closing, Next Steps, and Commitments, where campus leadership, led by Campus Director Dr. Maricel A. Gomez, formally adopted the new operational plans.

Contribution to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

The completion of this Operational Planning phase underscores EVSU-OC’s commitment to SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions. By establishing clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and aligning governance strategies, the university ensures effective, accountable, and transparent management. This strategic foresight not only improves institutional efficiency but also guarantees that the university remains a sustainable engine for human capital development in the region.
