EVSU–Ormoc Achieves 59.46% Passing Rate in February 2026 MELE

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has officially released the results of the February 2026 Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination (MELE), bringing pride to Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) for its strong performance in the national board examination.

Out of 37 examinees from EVSU-Ormoc, 22 successfully passed the examination, resulting in an institutional passing rate of 59.46 percent. This notable performance highlights the competence, preparation, and determination of the university’s Mechanical Engineering graduates, many of whom overcame significant challenges to achieve professional licensure.

On the national level, 3,264 out of 6,294 examinees passed the MELE, translating to an overall passing rate of 51.86 percent. The licensure examination was conducted on February 11–13, 2026 in testing centers nationwide, with results released shortly after the examination period.

The Mechanical Engineering Licensure Examination is one of the country’s major professional board examinations, designed to assess competencies in areas such as power plant engineering, industrial engineering, machine design, and mechanical systems. Passing the exam signifies that an individual meets the national standards required to practice mechanical engineering in the Philippines and to ensure public safety through sound engineering practice.

The newly licensed engineers from EVSU-Ormoc are expected to contribute significantly to key industries including manufacturing, energy, transportation, construction, and infrastructure development—sectors that play a crucial role in economic growth, technological advancement, and sustainable development.
