Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus held its 21st Commencement Exercises at the Ormoc City Superdome on July 12, 2024, honoring the hard work and achievements of its graduates.

A total of 991 graduates of batch 2023-2024 attended the ceremony, coming from the Teacher Education Department (TED), Industrial Technology Department (ITD),Business and Management Department (BMD), Computer Studies Department (CSD) and the Engineering Department (ED).

University President, Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, EVSU-OC Director, Dr. Jeffry V. Ocay, Faculty, the Vice-Presidents of the administration, the Campus Directors from different satellite campuses, and other distinguished guests were also present in the ceremony along with the graduates and their parents and guardians. Subsequently, Hon. Daniel A. Ariaso, Sr., Ph.D., CESO II, University President of Cebu Normal University, served as the commencement speaker. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of expressing gratitude and love to those around them and encouraged the graduates to continue their studies, noting that their future success depends on their efforts.

As the program progressed, Dr. Dennis C. De Paz spearheaded the conferment of degrees and awarding of diploma together with Dr. Jeffry V. Ocay, the Campus Director. Meanwhile, the awarding of the LGU Award for Academic Excellence, Academic Excellence in Science and Technology and the Unifast Academic Excellence Award also took place.

This year’s set of academic awardees consists of 36 Magna Cum Laude, 11 Cum Laude and 437 Academic Achievers. Moreover, Jessa Regodo the Valedictorian of Class 2024 led the pledge of loyalty.

The event was concluded by the induction of graduates by Bernie C. Palacio, President of EVSU Ormoc General Alumni Association as well as the singing of their graduation song and tribute to parents.
