As part of the 20th Charter Day Celebration, the Eastern Visayas State University Main Campus, along with its external campuses in Ormoc, Carigara, Dulag, Tanauan, and Burauen, embraced the occasion with boundless possibilities as they marked the grand opening with various activities such as Flag Raising Ceremony, the Grand Float and Motorcade Parade, Thanksgiving Mass and a series of ribbon cutting activities on August 19, 2024, at the EVSU Main Campus, Tacloban City.

Ribbon-cutting and booth openings were led by Dr. Dennis C. de Paz. To welcome the event, various colleges and external campuses took part in an exciting competition featuring dance and singing. The open field was abuzz with vibrancy and  enthusiasm as each department and campus cheered for their teams. Said activities were attended by university key officials, faculty and staff, guests, and students from different campuses.

Additionally, the candidates for Mr. and Ms. EVSU from main campus and external campuses were introduced. They will compete for the crown on Wednesday, August 28.
