EVSU holds Public Forum for University President's Reappointment

To discuss the reappointment of the university president, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, different external campuses of the university, represented by faculty and students attended a public forum held on May 9, 2025, at the Eastern Visayas State University Main Campus’ Graduate School Function Hall. There are 5 board representatives in each sector: Commission on Higher Education (CHED) representative, and the board leader, Atty. Peter Lloyd D. Carpio, student representative, John Michael D. Bulgado; faculty’s representative, Dr. Leah Abad, private sector’s representative, Mr. Roy T. Nebrija, and the lastly, Dr. Tisso A. Ronquillo. The event started with the presentation of the achievements of the university president for the last 4 years of his term. Subsequently, each campus was given a time to discuss their sentiment and concerns with the board one by one. The public forum provided an avenue for the EVSU community to express their views on the reappointment of Dr. Dennis C. de Paz. Faculty, students, and stakeholders from various campuses shared their appreciation, concerns, and expectations for continued leadership. The active participation reflected the university’s dedication to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.
