On May 11, 2024, engineering students had an orientation on workplace ethics and legal protocols. Spearheaded by Mr. Jabbar T. Dibarosan, an esteemed resource speaker holding qualifications in education and law, the orientation was facilitated by the Gender and Development Office with support from the Gender and development Youth Coordinator.

The primary focus was on RA 7877, the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act, crucial in ensuring a safe and respectful work environment. Understanding this law is pivotal for interns and trainees stepping into professional spheres, equipping them with knowledge on their rights and the procedures to address any untoward incidents. The orientation delved into RA 11313, known as the Safe Spaces Act, reinforcing the importance of creating inclusive environments free from discrimination and harassment. This act not only protects individuals but also promotes diversity and inclusion, fundamental aspects of a progressive workplace.

Through this orientation, participants gained insights into navigating the complexities of workplace dynamics while upholding ethical standards. The intersection of legal compliance, work ethics, and gender sensitivity provided a comprehensive foundation for students entering the workforce, ensuring they contribute positively and responsibly to their respective fields.
