BSIT Trailblazers: EVSU-Ormoc Triumphs in Website Design Competition
ORMOC CITY, LEYTE — Demonstrating technical mastery and creative innovation, students from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program of Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) clinched 1st Place in the SKILLSLYMPIC: Website Design Competition held during ACLC Days 2026.
Centering on the theme “Ignite the Future: Building Strong Foundations Together,” the EVSU-OC team—composed of Jet Venson Romero, John Paul Vasquez, and Russel Dasigan—outpaced strong contenders to secure the top spot. The podium was completed by two teams from Western Leyte College, who earned the 2nd and 3rd place awards, respectively.
The victory underscores the high caliber of IT education at EVSU-Ormoc, proving the students’ readiness for real-world digital challenges. Behind the team’s success was the expert mentorship of coaches Mr. Pol A. Miro and Mr. Joseph Jaymel S. Morpos, whose guidance was instrumental in honing the winners’ technical expertise and teamwork.
