The delightful evening commenced as the attendees, retirees, faculty, staff, and graduates strutted the carpet, showcasing their elegant modernized Barong Tagalog and Filipiñiana attire. The event began with greetings from Sir Rustico B. Badilla, MaED. Head, Admin and Finance Services, who was immediately followed by a powerful and touching speech from the Univesity President, Dr. Dennis C. De Paz.

The awarding of the pioneering faculty, retirees, and service recipients was then carried out, with Dr. Guillermo M. Sodomia presiding over the presentation. University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz and EVSU-OC Campus Director Dr.Jeffry V. Ocay delivered the awards.

After a short while everyone consumed and enjoyed their delicious meals,the awarding of community partners followed,giving thanks and honor to Hon. Tomas Serafica,Hon. Ma. Victoria L. Locsin,Hon. Carmelo Locsin Sr.,the Ormoc City Vice Mayor,Hon. Lucy Torres,Ormoc City Mayor and Hon. Richard I. Gomez,the 4th District of Leyte Representative to be awarded by EVSU-Ormoc’s Director and the University President. The respected Ormoc City Vice Mayor,Hon. Carmelo Locsin Sr. shared a touching message that looked back and celebrate EVSU-OC’s success then and now.

A recognition for community partners of EVSU-OC and EVSU-OC 2023 alumni awards for 3 outstanding alumni was given afterwards. Campus Director,Dr. Jeffrey V. Ocay gave his message of appreciation and heartfelt gratitude towards the guests,faculty and staffs, and organizers of the event for the sincere initiative of gathering the gems of EVSU-OC for a meaningful night.

The event concluded with a spirited unity dance led by the alugyaw dance group and a vivid after disco party full of hidden party moves with a twirl and a swish!
