The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Main Campus hosted its Grand Alumni Homecoming at the EVSU Main Inner Court last August 24, 2024. Embracing the theme “Legacy of Excellence: Honoring the Past, Inspiring the Future,” the event was a vibrant tribute to the university’s rich history and a hopeful look toward its future.

Alumni from both the main and external campuses gathered to celebrate, reliving fond memories and creating new ones. President Dennis C. de Paz, Campus Directors from external campuses, and other notable figures were also in attendance.

Dr. Danilo P. Pulma, Vice President for Internationalization and External Affairs, delivered a welcome message, expressing gratitude to the returning alumni for their ongoing support and connection to their alma mater. Following his address, Dr. Felix O. Barrion, Director of the Alumni Relations and Affairs Office, acknowledged the participants. A special message was also shared by Hon. Regent Daniel A. Ariaso Sr., PhD, President of the Federation of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) Alumni Associations. Dr. Ariaso’s remarks highlighted the importance of maintaining strong ties with the institution.

The evening continued with an awards ceremony, honoring the achievements of various alumni. Meanwhile, EVSU-Ormoc Campus Alumni Basketball Team was recognized as the 1st runner-up in the recent Basketball League.

The festivities included a delightful dinner, followed by an entertainment that featured singing and dancing. The event was a resounding success, reinforcing the strong bonds between the graduates and the university. This celebration was part of the institution’s 20th Charter Day festivities, marking two decades of growth and achievement.
