“Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, and by his bruises we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:4-5
As the Lenten Season unfolds, Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) community—students, faculty and staff—gathered for solemn reflection for the commemoration of Grand Station of the Cross, yesterday, April 10, 2025.
The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of the Cross or Via Crucis, commemorate Jesus’s passion and death on the cross. It is a powerful reminder and love that define the Christian’s faith.
Led by Dixie Jean V. Caresosa, MPRM, Campus Ministry Coordinator, 14 stations were assigned for each organization to depict the moment of Jesus’ journey to Calvary through sacred art, prayers, and reflections. As the community walked this sacred path, each one was invited to contemplate the depth of Jesus’ suffering and the profound significance of His sacrifice.
This grand event is a testament to the EVSU-OC community’s commitment to faith, reflection, and spiritual growth. This also serves as reminder of the enduring power of love, compassion, and redemption.
