In commemoration of the conclusion of 2023, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineersโ€”EVSU Ormoc Student Chapter is upholding its tradition by arranging Interface 2023. This event aims to honor the achievements and recognize the endeavors of the civil engineering community during the academic year.

On December 20, 2023, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineersโ€”Ormoc Student Chapter presented a necklacing ceremony that was intended for all the second-year civil engineering students to commemorate and show appreciation for all their collective efforts.

Dr. Joel M. Capala, head of the engineering department, initiated the ceremony with a warm welcome and heartfelt congratulations to the recent board members. Meanwhile, Engr. Ruderico Endriano, PICE-EVSU OSC second adviser, followed with an inspirational message, emphasizing the importance of persevering through the challenges of their chosen course. Moreover, Mr. Alexander Jr. M. Morfe, PICE-EVSU OSC Committee Head, delivered his pinnacle speech and stated the purpose of having a necklacing ceremony. โ€œThese necklaces are not mere ornaments; they are badges of honor, earned through countless sleepless nights and unwavering determination,โ€ he said.

Following that, the necklace presentation began, and Ms. Kyanna Mae F. Laurente, the second-year board of governor, conducted the oath-taking. Subsequently, certificates and hard hats were awarded to all recent board passers in the civil engineering licensure examination, expressing appreciation for their dedication. Engr. Ella Garciano, a board passer, delivered an inspiring testimonial, expressing gratitude for her supportive parents, who encouraged her to attempt the board examination for the second time.

As the event drew to a conclusion, Engr. Phoebe Lanzaderas, first adviser of PICE-EVSU OSC, delivered her closing remarks, leaving an indomitable mark on all the attendees.
