Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) through the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) students spearheaded a seminar on Cultural Exchange Program for Teachers on December 19, 2024 at the EVSU-OC Function Hall.

The event formally commenced with a welcome remarks from Prof. Georgina M. Orbeta, General Education Coordinator, where she recognized the team behind the event and encouraged the attendees to embrace the learning opportunities offered by the seminar.

Subsequently, the seminar began with insightful discussions led by an esteemed panel of speakers. Ms. Jessa Mae C. Ducalang introduced the concept of Cultural Exchange Programs, setting the stage for deeper exploration of the topic. Ms. Niah Jane P. Belmoro elaborated on Understanding Cultural Competence, highlighting the significance of adaptability and sensitivity in multicultural settings. Ms. Hannah Marie J. Parrilla detailed the Cultural Exchange Process and Requirements, providing practical guidelines for aspiring participants.

After the discussion, Prof. Alvi Jean S. Weti, one of the esteemed guest speakers, shared her valuable experiences gained from Cultural Exchange. It was then followed with an icebreaker activity to energize the attendees.

The seminar then resumed with two more impactful topics. Ms. Mary Krystine L. Jugar tackled Adapting to New Environments as a Teacher, offering strategies for overcoming challenges in unfamiliar settings, and Ms. Aira Jane A. Daisog concluded the talk with her topic on The Impact of Cultural Exchange Programs on Career Growth, emphasizing the long-term benefits of these opportunities in building global competence.

Adding excitement to the event, the attendees were treated with special performances by Ms. Scarlet T. Pitogo and Ms. Rose Marie P. Millana, who serenaded the audience with a selection of Christmas songs, bringing joy and warmth to the event.

The seminar concluded with the awarding of certificates to the speakers and participants, followed by a heartfelt closing remark from Ms. Reina Mae Porcare, BEEd President, who expressed her gratitude to all attendees and reiterated the importance of cultural exchange programs in shaping globally competent educators.
