Unleashing their blazing ire on leech-like defense and powerful shoots and dribbles, the Alumni’s Basketball Team, the Elite, of Eastern Visayas State University Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) emerged victorious against PICE EVSU Main Campus, 100-58, during the Alumni Basketball Tournament 2024 at EVSU Inner Court on July 27, 2024.

Amidst the chill from the rain and playing in the opponent’s homecourt, the highly spirited Elite showcased their sizzling performance, evident in their strong tactics and scorching shots, securing a formidable leading score of 31-6 in the initial quarter.

As the match progressed, the Elite showed an impressive display of teamwork, making the opponent’s team struggle to keep up. They managed to exemplify their skills in a man-to-man defense while releasing potent shots and rebounds during the second and third quarters, resulting in a prominent score of 63-23 and 84-42, respectively.

Riding high on the game, the final quarter showed the intense level of Elite’s spirit, apparent in their quick hands and sharp reflexes. Their consistency and cohesion as a team all throughout the four quarters resulted in a lopsided victory with a score of 100-58.

Their victory not only showcased their basketball prowess but also highlighted the dedication and talent present in the alumni community of EVSU-OC. Meanwhile, Mr. Jomar Quinamot was recognized as the Player of the Game.

With this victory, the Elite advances further into the tournament, having another set of game this coming August 3, 2024. As they continue to play with passion and precision, the EVSU Ormoc Campus community eagerly anticipates more thrilling performances from this dedicated alumni team.
