Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) celebrated the inauguration of its new Campus Director with an event themed “Leadership in Transition” today, August 8, 2025, at the EVSU-OC Function Hall, marking a new chapter in the campus’ leadership. The event commenced with a warm welcome from Gil Anthony O. Abaño, the EVSUOFA President, who greeted attendees and emphasized the importance of mutual respect, collaboration, and unity within the community. Following this, Dr. Jeffry V. Ocay, the outgoing Campus Director, shared his experiences and challenges during his tenure. He noted that leadership is not without its imperfections and reminded the young faculty members that a designation is not necessarily a promotion. The program continued with messages and pledges of commitment from various department heads and non-teaching staff as the symbolic turnover was rescheduled because the newly appointed Campus Director, Dr. Maricel A. Gomez, was attending another equally important event in Tacloban. However, department heads expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to work with the outgoing Campus Director, acknowledging his strict adherence to rules and his transformative impact on EVSU Ormoc. Lastly, Dr. Beatrice D. Mabitad, the Senior Faculty Representative, formally closed the significant event, expressing her vision that the newly appointed Campus Director would bring new opportunities, leadership, and enhanced academic quality to EVSU.
