Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) conducted an in-depth assessment of the proposed curriculum revisions per teacher education programs yesterday, April 14, 2025, at the Sutuwaki, Ormoc City. Said event was attended by the EVSU education department head, faculty, and students, along with the EVSU COEDs’ Dr. Ma. Leah I. Abad, Dr. Rey Anthonie D. Alvez, Dr. Joel A. Alfarero, and Dr. Julinito S. Sangutan.

The event formally started with a welcome address from Dr. Ma. Leah I. Abad. Followed by the discussion of the main purpose of the event, which was the proposed curriculum revisions. Thereafter, Dr. Rey Anthonie D. Alvez continued to present the revised curriculum of Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Education (BTVTED) program. Came after Dr. Joel A. Alfarero who talked about the curriculum revision of the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPED) program. All who discussed and coherently analyzed the revised curriculums, highlighting a considerable decrease in the number of units compared to the previous curriculums.

Key concerns related to the education internship and the proposed curriculum revisions were raised and addressed accordingly, showcasing a healthy and an open communication among stakeholders.

The event concluded with the closing remarks of Dr. Beatrice D. Mabitad, who emphasized the significance of the curriculum review and the University’s upcoming membership to the ASEAN University Network (AUN). She was also appreciative of the participation and presence of all attendees and expressed her gratitude for the enlightenment during the open and healthy discussion, for a deeper understanding of the proposed curriculum revisions.
