Acknowledging the consistent efforts and perseverance of Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus Awardees of the Class of 2024, the Campus Director of EVSU-OC, Administrative Officers, Faculty, Academic Department Heads, Office Heads, and student-awardees assembled at EVSU-OC Covered Court during the 21st Recognition Day, yesterday, July 10, 2024.

Dr. Jeffry V. Ocay, formally started the said event with his warm welcome remarks, followed by his congratulatory message. “To tell you honestly, if we could just give the award to you easily, we could have done that. However, there is a process, there is a policy, there is a guideline we followed—we conscientiously followed, so if you did not make it to the Latin Honors, or to the Outstanding Student of the Year, or the Academic Award we’re giving for, I still congratulate you for making it to the Achiever … but one thing is for sure, you all deserve the recognition and awards you will receive today.” said Dr. Ocay.   Subsequently, the whole crowd welcomed the distinguished guest speaker of the event, Ms. Ana Marie L. Quisagan, LPT, Officer II of City Youth Development Office, as she shared an inspiring and remarkable message.  “Recognition Day is not just about honoring achievements, it’s also about inspiring us to continue striving for excellence. Let today be a reminder that hard work pays off, and every effort we made contributes to our growth and development,” Ms. Quisagan remarked, recognizing the hard work and dedication of the students.

Furthermore, the EVSU-OC Covered Court was filled with constant excitement and joy, echoing every applause from the students as they were about to witness the fruit of their labor. The top student of the class 2024, Ms. Jessa Regodo, Magna Cum Laude, delivered her words of gratitude. “Always remember this, it’s not about the title, it’s about the hard work you put it. Then showing yourself as a true person, who can work hard and hold back. I stand here not just an individual’s success story, but as a testament to the power of perseverance and determination,” said Ms. Regodo, inspiring and igniting her fellow graduands to strive for the best in order to reach the peak of their journey as they become successful professionals in the future.

Along with this ceremony, the presentation of awards for Latin Honors, Academic Achievers, and Special Awards (sports, cultural, regional, and national distinctions), were finally given by Dr. Jeffry V. Ocay, the respective department heads, and Dr. Jeorgen T. Arradaza, Jr., Head of Students Affairs and Services Office (SASO).

Finally, the event formally concluded with the profound message of Dr. Jeorgen T. Arradaza, Jr., recognizing the significance of this milestone that gives pride and honor to the institution.
