By the grace of God, students, faculty, and staff of EVSU-OC have gathered for the Holy Mass to begin the celebration of World Teachers’ Day, with hearts full and hands open to the blessings ahead, yesterday, October 25, 2024 at EVSU-OC covered court.
Dr. Joergen T. Arradaza Jr., Head of Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) opened the event with a welcoming message. “We change the lives of our students”, he said during his remarks. It was followed by an inspirational message from Mr. Quiruben B. Dejaño, President of Supreme Student Government (SSG), giving his utmost appreciation to the educators of EVSU.
After the heartwarming messages, clamorous laughs echoed in the entire gym as our educators enjoyed the games—Trip to Canada, Head, Shoulder, Knees, and Pick, Bring Me, and Pinoy Henyo—prepared by the SSG Officers. After the fun and enjoyable games, an endearing song ensued by Mr. Kenneth V. Sosmeña, entitled “Glowing Inside,” showing gratitude to our beloved teachers.
As the afternoon festivities carried on, a lively set of games kept the energy high. Solo and duet singing performances from the teachers further elevated the crowd’s energy. Adding to the thrill, a raffle was held, with teachers winning a variety of exciting prizes.
Subsequently, the most awaited awarding ceremony for the teachers also took place, organized by the SSG. The selection was based on student votes, making the honors especially meaningful. To uplift the atmosphere and bring everyone together, the SSG, along with students from various organizations, performed a unity dance. Following the dance, students presented flowers and letters, expressing heartfelt appreciation for their teachers.
As the event came to a close, Dr. Jeffry V. Ocay, director of EVSU-OC, delivered his closing remarks, offering his gratitude to all the people behind the success of the event. He also emphasized that, although teachers may appear strict in class, their actions reflect a genuine care for their students’ well-being and growth.
This momentous occasion serves as a tribute of appreciation to the educators in the institution, personifying them as torchbearers in shaping the minds and futures of the students.
