The Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) launched its first orientation for the academic year to equip students with crucial knowledge and insights for their academic journey, spearheaded by Dr. Clery Shellanei D. Nicolas, Adviser of the Association of Hospitality Management Students (AHMS), along with the organizationโ€™s officers and members on September 16, 2024, at the EVSU-OC Covered Court with the theme โ€œAdvancing Hospitality Management Standards.โ€

To formally start, Prof. Lyra C. Rodriguez, MPM, Head of the Business and Management Program, welcomed the attendees, particularly the freshmen, and encouraged active participation in upcoming initiatives. The event featured an energetic performance by the Alugyaw Dance Company.

Meanwhile, Dr. Clerly Shellanei D. Nicolas led the reading of the newly amended Constitution and Bylaws (CBL), designed to familiarize students with the governance and operational structure of their program. Following this, Mr. Cris Carlo R. Buri, the Assistant Secretary of the organization, presented the new official logo he designed and shared the inspiration behind its creation.

The AHMS officers, along with the head committee and its members, each shared their individual advocacy and explained how their respective positions would support and benefit the student body.

Subsequently, Edelyn Rose R. Joson, AHMS Auditor, presented the financial reports to promote transparency. Following this, Hon. Quiruben Dejaรฑo, student regent of EVSU, expressed his gratitude for the invitation.

The orientation concluded with a Q&A session where Dr. Nicolas addressed concerns about the uniform color. Dr. Beatrice D. Mabitad, Head of the Teacher Education Department, delivered the closing remarks, celebrating the eventโ€™s success.
