Observer, the Official Tertiary Publication of Eastern Visayas State University Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC), is thrilled to open its doors to new campus journalists for the academic year 2024-2025! Whether you’re a wordsmith, a visual storyteller, or a digital wizard, there’s a place for you here.
We’re searching for individuals who aren’t just dreamers but doers—those who are ready to turn their creative vision into a powerful reality. All bonafide EVSU-OC students are welcome to join us—step up, stand out, and be part of our creative community.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆?
Step 1: Fill out the application form from the Student Publications Office.
a. For physical copies, inquire for the form at the Observer’s Office located at the BM Building besides the MESO Office from Mondays to Saturdays at 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. within the application period.
b. For online applications, download and fill out the PDF application form available here: https://drive.google.com/…/11cX-qN2nhbEDQr_lR…/view…. Once completed, submit it via email to observerspo.evsuoc@gmail.com with this subject format: SURNAME_SPO APPLICATION.
Step 2: Submit a portfolio showcasing at least five (5) previous works that demonstrate your skills relevant to the position you’re applying for.
a. For those who will apply personally, bring it with you either in printed form for literary or visual pieces or as transferrable files for digital works at the office.
b. For those who will apply online, send your portfolio to the same email address along with your application form.
Step 3: Once your application has been acknowledged—either through an official in-person confirmation or an email response—stay tuned for further updates regarding the schedule for the screening, exam, or interview process.
The application period runs from August 15 to September 5, 2024.
