EVSU Student-Athlete Princess Honey Arbilon Clinches Silver in 33rd SEA Games Modern Pentathlon

CHONBURI, THAILAND — The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) community has another reason to celebrate as one of its very own, Princess Honey Arbilon, powered her way to a Silver Medal finish in the Modern Pentathlon – Women’s Laser Run at the 33rd Southeast Asian (SEA) Games on Wednesday.

Arbilon, a seasoned pentathlete and a dedicated student at EVSU, clocked a total time of 13:29.32, securing 491 points to take the second spot on the podium. She finished just behind Thailand’s Pridasittinan Doiporn, who claimed the gold on her home turf.

The “Runaway Princess” lived up to her name, showcasing elite speed and composure during the grueling laser run event—a discipline that combines high-intensity running with precision laser pistol shooting.

A Pride of the University While the Philippines celebrates her as a national treasure, the win resonates deeply within the EVSU campus. Arbilon’s journey highlights the true spirit of a student-athlete: balancing the rigors of higher education with the intense demands of international sports. Her achievement serves as a beacon of inspiration for her fellow students, proving that “Tibay at Tatag” (Strength and Resilience) is not just a slogan, but a lifestyle for EVSU students.

Arbilon is no stranger to the SEA Games podium, having previously bagged gold in the 2019 edition of the games. Her consistent excellence continues to put the Philippines—and EVSU—on the global sporting map.

Continuing the Medal Haul Arbilon’s silver contributes to a successful outing for the Philippine Modern Pentathlon team, joining fellow medalist Melvin Sacay, who secured gold in the men’s division.

As the 33rd SEA Games continue, the EVSU family remains united in cheering for Princess and all Filipino athletes who carry the flag with honor.

Congratulations, Princess! Your EVSU family is beyond proud of you!
