EVSU Lady Eagles Receive Incentives from Ormoc City Government for National SCUAA 2025 Silver Medal Finish 🏆🏀

ORMOC CITY, December 1, 2025 — The Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) Lady Eagles Women’s Basketball Team was officially recognized and awarded generous incentives by the Ormoc City Government in a ceremony held today, December 1, 2025, in celebration of their stellar achievement in national sports.

The Lady Eagles were lauded for securing Silver Medals in the highly competitive National SCUAA 2025 games, which took place from April 22–27 in Camiguin Island. This remarkable feat not only highlights the dedication of the athletes but also brings immense pride and honor to the EVSU-Ormoc Campus and the people of Ormoc City.

A Heartfelt Expression of Gratitude

The EVSU Lady Eagles and their coaches expressed their deepest gratitude to the Ormoc City Government for this meaningful recognition and support. Special acknowledgment was given to Hon. Mayor Lucy Torres-Gomez and Hon. Congressman Richard Gomez, alongside all the city officials, for championing the cause of the city’s athletes.

A total of 46 athletes and 26 coaches from various sports, including the hardworking Lady Eagles team, received incentives during the ceremony. Their commitment, passion, and teamwork were celebrated as a shining example for the community.

The awarding was formally led by SP Member Krizea Caessandra Mercadal and SK Federation President Jhana Lyka Calixtro, with the support of the Ormoc City Sports Office (OCSO) team, headed by Rafael Muñoz.

Continuing to Soar

The university community joins the Lady Eagles in extending a sincere, “Daghang salamat sa inyong padayon nga suporta” (Thank you very much for your continuous support) to the entire Local Government Unit (LGU) of Ormoc.
