EVSU-OC Celebrates 25th Founding Anniversary with Grand Extension Extravaganza!
Eastern Visayas State University – Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) successfully celebrated its 25th Founding Anniversary with a simultaneous Extension Extravaganza event held on November 21, 2025. The event showcased the campus’s commitment to community engagement and knowledge dissemination through four distinct, impactful seminars.
Opening Program and Key Seminars
The day began with all participants gathering at the EVSU-OC covered court for the opening program. Following the successful conclusion of the ceremony, attendees proceeded to their respective seminars held across the campus.
KAAKBAY: Prioritizing Mental Wellness (UPDATED DETAILS)
- Project Leader: Dr. Charlene C. Pita, RGC (Guidance Designate) Along with the Peer Facilitators Circle Officers and Members
- Venue: Room 4, 2nd Floor, BSHM Classroom, Academic Building
- Time: 9:00 AM–12:00 NN
- Focus: The Psychological First Aid and Counseling “KAAKBAY” Seminar emphasized the importance of Psychological First Aid in helping people in distress, especially in times of crisis. This vital session underscored EVSU-OC’s recognition of mental health support as a crucial community service.
MaReHTes: Empowering Parents in Education
- Venue: Audio Visual Room, New Library Building
- Focus: The Managing Reading at Home and Teaching Strategies for Parents Projects (MaReHTes) Seminar was conducted to provide parents with a deeper level of knowledge in Teaching Strategies, equipping them with effective tools to support their children’s learning at home.
SCaPISaP: Innovating Coconut Products
- Venue: Demo Room, Technology Building
- Focus: The Strengthening Cabaon-an Farmers Association’s (CACFA’s) Products through Innovation, Safety, and Packaging (SCaPISaP) Seminar centered on the various benefits and potentials of the Coconut Tree. The seminar aimed to help the local farmers’ association enhance their products through modern techniques.
Hydroponics: Modernizing Agriculture
- Venue: Hydroponics Booth
- Focus: The Hydroponics Seminar successfully integrated current technological advancement in agriculture. The seminar featured a working water system that allows a consistent water cycle, demonstrating how plants can grow efficiently using this modern technique.
