As part of their Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions (MICE) course, the second-year students of the Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management (BSHM) of Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus (EVSU-OC) successfully hosted another kapehan session focused on the theme, “Leadership Management and Peace and Order,” today, April 24, 2025, at EVSU-OC Function Hall.
Ms. Rechelle L. Salape, the Event Manager welcomed everyone who was present at the event. After her was Dr. Clery Shellanie D. Nicolas, EVSU-OC’s Head of Security and Public Safety, who officially opened the activity.
The highlight of the event was an engaging and insightful discussion led by guest speakers PLTCOL Joel R. Camacho and Mr. Romnick Landero. They shared their professional experiences and perspectives on the impact of strong leadership and effective management on community development and public order.
They also tackled existing laws and policies related to peace and order and provided practical strategies for overcoming stress, criticism, and challenges in leadership—especially relevant to the student leaders in attendance.
An open forum followed, giving students and faculty the opportunity to directly interact with the speakers, ask questions, and seek guidance on leadership and community engagement.
The event concluded with Mr. Bonard B. Torres delivering the closing message, expressing heartfelt gratitude to the guest speakers, faculty, and students who contributed to the event’s success. Certificates of appreciation were then awarded to the distinguished guests.
