With unwavering passion and enthusiasm in the field of journalism, the Students Publication Office of EVSU-OC, Observer, continued its second day of Basic Campus Journalism Training (BCJT) on July 5, 2024, at EVSU-OC Function Hall.

In the morning, the program simultaneously started, where Ms. Analyn Singcol, MT-1 of Kananga National High School-Kawayan Annex, cheerfully started her insightful discussion about sports writing, encouraging every staff writer and correspondence to boost their passion for writing sports-related contexts. On the other hand, Mr. Kenny Fenix Abella of New Ormoc City National High School thoroughly shared his expertise about desktop publishing, TV broadcasting, and cinematography with our staff in the photojournalist, creative, and media departments, which will equip them with the practical skills needed in today’s media.

Meanwhile, during the afternoon session of this program, Mr. Joey Vincent Motel, a former editor-in-chief of the Observer, authentically expressed his knowledge of investigative writing, highlighting its importance and how this type of journalism writing opens the mind of every news consumer to more in-depth information. Meanwhile, Mr. Jim Yango Fantonial of Brigada News FM Ormoc delves into broadcasting together with the staff correspondence and media department. And the last session of this afternoon is indeed filled with much aesthetics, where Mr. Ed H. Tiquen, Information Officer II of DILG Regional Office 8, shared his mastery and skills in the field of photojournalism.

The second day of BCJT not only brought the participants new insightful learnings but also courage and resilience to keep on writing what is right.
