Abuzz with excitement and scholarly pride, the Function Hall of Eastern Visayas State University-Ormoc Campus was packed as it hosted a Contemporary Literature Culminating Activity headed by Mrs. Charo Dayandan-Angelio on May 30, 2024, aptly themed “Unearthing Treasures: A Literary Journey Through the Riches of the Past.”

The event began with heartfelt welcome remarks from Dr. Beatrice D. Mabitad, who expressed her immense happiness in seeing the vibrant culmination of literary appreciation and cultural showcase. She highlighted the significance of the activity in bringing to life the diverse cultures and traditions not just through books but in real-life situations.

The audience and guests were then treated to a series of remarkable performances by various student groups, each depicting classic literary masterpieces through a contemporary lens:

Their portrayal underscored the belief that access to quality education is a fundamental right that paves the way for societal progress and equity.

The event was subsequently brought to a close with heartfelt remarks by the instructor of Contemporary Literature 002, Mrs. Charo Dayandan-Angelio. She sent her sincere thanks to all those who were engaged, including her hardworking Lit 002 students, the performers, and special guests.
