EVSU-OC hosted a seminar on the importance of the Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education (MTB-MLE) Program, anchored in the theme โ€œPag-ambit sa Gahum sa MTB-MLE alang sa Paglambo sa Tinun-an ug Katilingban,” on May 28, 2024. The event brought together parents, kindergarten to grade 3 teachers, and third-year students from the Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED) to discuss the significance, theories, and benefits of MTB-MLE, aiming to dispel misconceptions and promote awareness.

The event was graced by the warm welcome remarks of Dr. Beatrice D. Mabitad, the head of the Teacher Education Department. It was then followed by the presentation from Mr. Francis Eric Pulido on the topic โ€œMTB-MLE Across the Nation.โ€ Additionally, Mr. Romeo Benedict Diaz discussed โ€œTheories of MTB-MLE,โ€ and Ms. Mary Loise Manzano delivered the โ€œBenefits of MTB-MLE.โ€

The primary purpose of the said event was to address misconceptions about teaching MTB-MLE to pupils and to raise awareness about the importance of the subject. The MTB-MLE Instructor, Georgina Orbeta, MA LLE ended the event with her closing remarks.
