Just today, May 1, 2024, around 5 p.m., a fire broke out near Eastern Visayas State University Ormoc Campus (Luna Extension). Mr. Raymund Narciso, a campus guard who happened to be off duty at the time, noticed the fire and immediately called the authorities.

The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Ormoc City Fire Station actively responded to the situation, with an additional fire truck arriving around 8:30 p.m. As of the latest update, the situation has been contained, and authorities have ensured the safety of the area.
