About IGP

Income Generating Project (IGP) Office is a project office within the university that aims to generate income by providing various services. The primary purpose of an IGP Office in a school setting is to explore and execute initiatives that generate additional revenue to supplement the school's existing financial resources. These projects can take various forms depending on the resources available, the needs of the school community, and the local context.

Budgetary restrictions are common in schools, and government funding might not always be enough to cover all of the expenses. The school can increase revenue through a variety of projects with the help of an IGP office, which can be used to pay for operational costs, make improvements to the building, and make investments in educational resources. It can be risky to rely only on government assistance or tuition funds. By exploring various income-generating projects like fundraising events, renting out school facilities, forming relationships with organizations or companies, or even launching new businesses on campus property, an IGP office helps the school to diversify its revenue streams.

IGPOs contribute to the financial sustainability of schools by generating revenue through income-generating projects and at the same time, addressing the needs of the students such as but not limited to selling of examination booklets, books from Rex Bookstore, ID slings, neckties, pins, student patches, P.E. uniforms, and student uniforms. In addition to the services being offered by the IGP office are the rental for classrooms, function hall, covered court, and canteen stalls.

By creating a sustainable source of income, the IGP office helps ensure the long-term viability and growth of the school. This financial stability enables the school to weather economic fluctuations and invest in its future development.
