The Junior Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers (JPSME) kicked off the year 2024 with a vibrant General Assembly and Clean Up Drive held on January 29th at EVSU-OC Luna Campus. Eager students, filled with enthusiasm, flocked to the campus, embracing the new semester with a shared sense of purpose. The promise of a fresh start and a commitment to community involvement brought them together for a day of both camaraderie and service.

As students gathered to participate in the Clean Up Drive, a palpable sense of unity filled the air. Armed with cleaning tools and a collective determination, they worked hand in hand to beautify their campus. The shared effort not only contributed to a cleaner environment but also fostered a strong sense of community among the students. Sweeping away the remnants of the past, they paved the way for a semester of growth and collaboration.

The General Assembly that followed marked a momentous occasion for JPSME. Led by the esteemed advisers, Engr. Robert Navarro, Engr. Edrinald Estobañez and Engr. Maria Jodelle Badilla, the assembly provided a platform to discuss the society’s goals, plans, and initiatives for the coming year. The guidance of these respected mentors added an extra layer of inspiration to the event, as we are also joined with our DOST scholar ME student Angel Mae Rosajelos giving a heartfelt speech “I just want you to remember that college years especially taking an Engineering course isn’t about getting high scores, it’s about learning and surviving. It’s ok to be tired, it’s ok to cry, and even if you fail, you just have to stand up and gear up. Everything’s fine, everything’s normal, that’s what living a life is”.

Setting the tone for a year where students are not only academically engaged but also actively contributing to the betterment of their community. The day concluded with a shared sense of accomplishment and anticipation for the opportunities and challenges that the new semester would bring.
